What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government program designed to support people with disabilities. It provides funding to eligible individuals to access services and support that they need, such as healthcare, education, employment and community participation. The NDIS aims to empower people with disabilities to live more independently and to participate fully in their communities. It is not a welfare program but a national insurance scheme, and eligibility is based on the person's disability and its impact on their ability to participate in daily activities.
